Colorado State Patrol leadership is sounding the alarm after a trooper was injured by a suspected drunk driver Saturday morning — the 12th time this year a driver has struck a patrol car on the side of the road.“Lives are at risk,” State Patrol Chief Col. Matthew Packard said during a Monday afternoon press conference.The trooper, Kevin Bagley, fell nearly 30 feet down an embankment after leaping out of the way when the driver crashed into his patrol car Saturday morning near Interstate 270 in Adams County. A driver was killed after their vehicle went off a cliff in Chatsworth. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, firefighters found the vehicle over the side of Santa Susana Pass Road with the driver dead. A dog was located in or near the vehicle, authorities said. Los Angeles Animal Services is responding to assist with the canine, who appeared to be in good condition. BERKELEY — A man who had gotten into an argument with a shuttle bus driver Monday morning outside Alta Bates Medical Center was arrested after a gun was found in his vehicle, police said.No injuries were reported.Police responded to a report of an argument about 10:40 a.m. on the Colby Street side of the hospital between a shuttle bus driver and a man illegally parked in a spot reserved for the shuttle.Initial reports were that “words of a threatening nature” were allegedly said by the man, police said.Authorities said a report that the man brandished a handgun during the dispute was being investigated.A gun was found in the man’s car and he was arrested, police said.
